Work Place Training
How does our Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) apply to the Master Gardener’s. With regard to reporting incidents, training, etc., does our plan cover them? What about our Hotline volunteers? Since the Hotline is located here at the office, it would be good for them to know where to evacuate to in case of an emergency.
Since they are volunteers, the Master Gardeners are not, technically, covered by the IIPP. The requirement for training on IIPP only applies to employees. That said, you are correct that for issues like building evacuation, you do want to provide training for the volunteers that staff your hotline, or do any other work at the office.
