Occupational Health Services

Routine health screenings, health surveillance, and preventive treatments:

Occupational health services available to UC-ANR employees include health screenings and preventive treatments which are required or recommended based on an assessment of the likely hazards the employee will encounter in their work. Health surveillance programs and medical services are provided through the UC Davis Occupational Health Clinic. If it is not feasible to obtain services at the Davis clinic, the clinic will work with external providers to communicate details of any required or recommended medical services or screenings.

Work-related injuries and illnesses:

Work-related injuries and illnesses must be reported to UC-ANR EHS department as soon as possible. In the event of a work-related injury or illness, employees should obtain services from their designated local medical provider as specified in the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) for their facility. Click here for instructions and more information on reporting employee injuries.

Cost:

Occupational health services received through UC Davis are available at no cost to UC-ANR employees, however $50 fee will be charged for missed appointments if employee does not cancel at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. The cost of any required or recommended services obtained from external providers (non-UC Davis) must be covered by the ANR employee's office or program. Medical services which are not related to a workplace injury or recommended by UC Davis Occupational Health Services are generally not covered by the employer.

Requesting services and scheduling appointments:

Prior to scheduling an appointment with UC Davis Occupational Health Clinic, you must submit a completed Request for Services Form via FAX or email.

Clinic hours and contact information are available on the UC Davis Safety Services website : http://safetyservices.ucdavis.edu/article/clinic-hours-contact-information

Occupational Health Surveillance System (OHSS) - UC-wide online risk assessment tool:

The OHSS program provides a convenient online format for supervisors and employees to formulate an occupational health risk assessment for the employee based on known or potential hazardous exposures employees may encounter in their job. Results of the risk assessment are submitted to the Occupational Health Physician for review. The physician will then provide health surveillance recommendations to the employee through the OHSS system.

The OHSS program can be accessed here and requires a UC Kerberos log-in ID
